Biography

Charlie Nguyen Kim is an award-winning French composer based in Miami, known for blending orchestral and electronic music with American and French influences.

Charlie has composed music for numerous films and TV series across major American and European networks, collaborating with directors such as Scott Waugh (director of Runner, Expend4bles…), Luc Besson (director & producer of Lucy, Taken, Leon, Nikita), Luke Greenfield (director of Playdate, The girl next door), …

His original score for the 2024 Olympics, narrated by Marion Cotillard, was featured in the official competition at the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2025, he received an award at the SXSW Festival in Austin, and served as a jury member at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, the largest short film festival in the world. His work has earned 2 Cannes Lions Awards.

Beyond screen, his work in luxury branding includes the iconic music for Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle campaign featuring Julia Roberts (directed by Bruno Aveillan), as well as collaborations with Patrick Dempsey. He has created sound identities for Porsche, Louis Vuitton, Rolls-Royce …

His music has also been exhibited in museums, at Atelier des Lumières in Paris, at Expo 2025 in Osaka and Giolabs in Luxembourg.

Charlie, an electronic music producer known under the alias KIMOTION, has worked with major artists such as Diplo, Justice, Like Mike, Mylène Farmer, Grand Corps Malade, Passi, and many others. As KIMOTION, he has topped global charts and shared the stage with legends like David Guetta, Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, Martin Garrix, Robin Schulz.
